FAQ
An "all-over" quilting pattern is a single pattern that is quilted from one side of the quilt to the other and then repeated down the quilt. Many quilts are well-suited to all-over quilting pattern. They add texture to the fabric but do not distract from the piecing. Log-cabin quilts and four-patch are a couple of examples of quilt patterns that are well suited to this type of quilting. Several examples of this type of quilting can be found on the Gallery page.
*All-over quilting takes 2-4 weeks.
Custom quilting requires a more detailed, individualized service. It is designed to enhance the quilt’s overall appearance by working on individual blocks, borders and sashings. Custom quilting is used on any quilt needing stitch-in-the-ditch, motifs quilted in alternate blocks, or repetitive techniques such as cross-hatching, echoing or stippling.
This type of quilting can take up to 3 to 4 times longer than all-over quilting. As a result, the cost of this type of quilting is higher than all-over quilting.
*Custom quilts take 6-8 weeks.
